City of Fort Smith Animal Task Force Applications

On July 5, 2011 Mayor Sanders and the board of directors approved the formation of an animal services task force.

The seven-member panel is authorized to identify problems, concerns, and issues with dogs and cats in Fort Smith. It will be the task force’s job to develop, research, and analyze possible solutions and make recommendations to the board of directors.

The task force will complete its work within 30 days from the date of its first meeting.

The board of directors will appoint applicants to the panel next month. Citizens are encouraged to apply, by completing an application, available either online or by calling Wendy Beshears at 784.2201.
