The Education & Quality of Place Division is currently seeking nominations for the 2011 Frontier Achievement Awards. The 30th Annual Frontier Achievement Awards will be presented on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the River Front Park Events Building. At this time, the Education & Quality of Place Division leaders of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce will recognize various individuals, businesses, or industries who have made an outstanding contribution to the historical development of our city and/or helped to preserve the heritage of Fort Smith. Any citizen, business or industry of Fort Smith who meets the above criteria may be nominated to receive this award. Nominations must be recieved by Wednesday, April 6, 2011. The Art Matters Committee works to revive and enrich community life through arts, history and culture. This alliance will represent the Greater Fort Smith Region on a state level and assist with funding opportunities.
The Green and Clean Committee works to bring greater awareness of the environmental and financial benefits of going green to the community and local businesses. Educational and awareness-oriented programs benefitting industry, small business, commercial, and residential will play a vital role in the success of this initiative.
