Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce must have economic development funds to succeed. These funds will allow the Chamber to maximize marketing and recruitment capabilities in order to make sure that the Fort Smith Region continues to thrive. It is the job of the Economic Development Council to help raise these funds and make sure they are utilized where they can make the greatest impact.

In May 2009, the Chamber introduced an Economic Development campaign to the membership, Invest in the Best.
